Minimum Qualifications
Masters or PhD students; Current UofT graduate students in good standing; interest in teaching and working with novice nursing students; Clinical expertise and experience relevant to the specific course and clinical focus; The hiring criteria for Teaching Assistant positions are academic qualifications, the need to acquire experience, previous experience and previous satisfactory employment under the provisions of this Collective Agreement.
Preferred Qualifications
CNO registration as an RN is preferred.
Relevant Criterion
The need to acquire experience is the more relevant criterion than previous experience in respect of this posted position.
Duties
Classes in-Person Monday mornings; facilitate group work/tutorials in-person Monday afternoons; teach in the pre-clinical SIM/skills lab; Complete independent preparation for course content and tutorial and lab teaching on a weekly basis; Marking, grading and providing feedback for assignments and papers; Meet with supervisor as required; Participate in course orientation, marking meetings and other meetings.
Notes
Effective January 1, 2025, the following rates apply: Undergraduate /SGS I /SGS II = $52.97 per hour + 4% vacation pay. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. The rate of pay is established by the Collective Agreement between Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 3902 Unit 1 and the University of Toronto.
