Minimum Qualifications
Current graduate or doctoral student, with teaching experience preferred.
Relevant Criterion
Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.
Duties
Assistance with course administration (labs, grading assignments, tests, exams), and other duties as assigned. Duties may include class attendance and 1 hour office hour after each major assignment given in class, typically 3 assignments x 1 hour each.
Notes
Rate of pay: In accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Collective Agreement, effective January 1, 2025, the rate of pay for a teaching assistant is $52.97 per hour and effective January 1, 2026, the rate of pay for a teaching assistant is $53.92 per hour. Should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the Collective Agreement shall prevail.
All jobs are posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrollment.
Duties of this position shall be performed at the campus on which the position is located. Where the duties are intended to be performed at another location, such other location will be specified in the posting.
Positions posted here are open to Graduate Students in the School of Graduate Studies, Postdoctoral Fellows and Undergraduate Students in the University of Toronto.
Preference in hiring shall be given to Graduate Students enrolled in the School of Graduate Studies of the University of Toronto or those who have made application to be enrolled in the School of Graduate Studies of the University of Toronto.
